Comedy and Chill

The Comedy & Chill series at Dolce Vita has provided some much needed stability as the Midtown neighborhood undergoes another massive transition. Liberty Deli and the Crogan Building were recently demolished to make way for more student housing. Pictured here are comics James Fedkiw, Kelsey Claire Hagen, Abdulkadir Hadi, and organizer John Leonard Bellavia. Hopefully, the laughs and series will continue.

Jeff Houston

The local music scene is like a fraternity: so many good folks jamming, sharing and looking out for one another.

We were sad to hear about Jeff Houston’s passing.  We caught him many times around Syracuse, but most recently at the Community Folk Art Center’s Women in Music series.

A tribute will take place at Dolce Vita where Houston usually played on Wednesday nights.

Evan Knight plays Dolce Vita

Amid the construction and fractured streetscape along the East Genesee Street portion of the Connective Corridor, Dolce Vita continued it’s live music series on Wednesday with a performance by the Evan Knight Trio.  The trio played hits by Stevie Wonder and Al Green as well as some jazz standards.

Knight made a name for himself playing multiple gigs and festivals around Syracuse and was mentored by Dave Frateschi (of the BlackLite horns).
