Tickets to see the POTUS
Here are some photographs of the line to receive tickets for the speech at Henninger by President Barack Obama.
The line for tickets began at the Sunnycrest Ice Rink and meandered past the baseball field, tennis courts and wrapped around near Robinson Street.
Camp Obama. Some supporters came to Henninger soon after the announcement was made last night that tickets would be available for the public appearance by the President.
Ella Williams and Mary McClain, both came to Syracuse from Florida in 1960. They said they loved Syracuse and of course they were among President Obama’s biggest fans. They said they arrived this morning to stand in line at about 8:30 am. They are pictured was near the Sunnycrest Tennis Courts.

Here’s part two of our conversation with Linda Dickerson-Hartsock, director of the Connective Corridor. She talks about the Corridor as a social network and destination as much as a transportation route. It has literally connected some neighborhoods a stop at a time.
Under her leadership the route has the potential to become that third space (as in that place between work and home) here in the city.

Last Dance, Jazz in the City (Westside)
Here are some photos of dancing during Thursdays Jazz in the City, which was held at one of the stops along the Connective Corridor Route (Westside).
Brasil to Blodgett: Rhonda Arns danced to the sounds of Edgar Pagans bass on Thursday (Jazz in the City). Grupo Pagan recently returned from performing in Brasil.
Baila: A couple danced during an early set at by Grupo Pagan.
A Tenor Warrior Returns

CNY Jazz Executive Directior Larry Luttinger, Will Holton, Kathy Goodnough and Common Council President Van Robinson at Jazz in the City last night (Oswego Street).
Will Holton fan Kathy Goodnough had seen the smooth sax player perform at a previous Jazz in the City event and decided to come out to last night’s party. She seemed to enjoy everything from his Grover Washington, Jr. cover, to his audio acrobatics created via the talkbox. Toward the end Holton, who is based in Buffalo, even performed a “saxbox.”
Holton was the featured player along with Grupo Pagan.
The event was held a stone throw from Westside Academy at Blodgett along the Connective Corridor route. Some of the school administrators, busy preparing for the start of the school year, came out to join and enjoy the festivities.

First Dance
Here are some more photographs from Wednesdays on Walton (WOW). The square was filled with the sounds of zydeco and the flavor of Mardi Gras last week. And true to the spirit of New Orleans, it even brought out strolling musicians such as David Corcoran (see below).

Edwin “Eddie” Moss, baller, SU alum, publisher (circa 2005)
As SU gets ready to enter the Atlantic Coast Conference this season, we remember Edwin “Eddie” Moss. Moss was a point guard for SU and ushered them into the Big East back in 1979. He later became a newspaper publisher. He’s pictured here in 2005 (the same year he passed away). May he rest in peace.
