Zeke Leonard, musician

Zeke Leonard, musician

Here is an idea whose time has come.

We look forward to more music/concerts and live shows at Forman Park along the Connective Corridor. Today we witnessed professor Zeke Leonard climb atop a car to perform “This Land is Your Land,” complete with a recycled ukulele and a NY-made-kazoo.

Leonard’s lunchtime performance was part of the Corridor’s Green Streets and Local Eats festival.

Let’s find a way to keep the music going at Forman Park.

Syracuse Architectural Digest: Muskat Live

Barry Muskat, developer from Buffalo

Barry Muskat, find developer from Buffalo, talked about 709 East Genesee Street on Thursday.

On one hand developer Barry Muskat sounds like a comedian (listen to sound clip below); on the other hand, he is definitely an optimist. His company has taken over 709 East Genesee Street, brought in United Uniform as an anchor tenant, and he’s not done yet.

The property is located across from Forman Park, between the Crowne Plaza Hotel and the Parkview Hotel.

During the press conference to announce the winners of the Connective Corridor facade grant winners (round 2), Muskat hilariously walked business owners, officials and the press through his firm’s plans.

He praised officials from the Connective Corridor and local businesses for changing what he called the “psychological infrastructure” of the neighborhood.

North Face of 709: As Muskat gave his comments at the press conference the work continued on the United Uniform commercial space, which is schedule to open on Monday.

All jokes aside, let’s hope Muskat’s enthusiasm is infectious.

Peter Dunn, President and CEO of the Community Foundation, spoke about the Syracuse Beautification Fund today during a press conference at the Parkview Hotel.

We found out about a civic renaissance project called the Syracuse Beautification Fund this morning during an event highlighting the new recipients of Connective Corridor facade grants.  CNY Community Foundation President & CEO Peter Dunn said he hopes charitable, give it forward initiatives like such as theirs will spread beyond the Corridor to other sections of the city.
