Redshirt Jr. Justin Reyes cuts down the net after today’s victory.
Justin Reyes was named Most Outstanding Player for the NCAA Div. II East Region after Wednesday’s 26 point, 13 rebound performance. He also had 4 blocks.
St. Thomas Aquinas (STAC) outlasted a formidable College of St. Rose team 69-66.
STAC moves on to play South Dakota next week.
Reyes hammered home a dunk in the first half of yesterday’s game.

Fans of St. Thomas Aquinas College in town to cheer on their team. They came from Brooklyn. We enjoyed their rabid fan base and their custom t-shirts.

St. Rose’s Tyler Sayre
The NCAA Div. II East Regional held at Lemoyne for the past few days has featured some spectacular basketball games. We are not sure if it was underappreciated, but we will say that more promotion was needed. It was a great venue for kids, families, fans and coaches. The good news is this: you still have a chance to check it out.
Tonight St. Thomas Aquinas College will do battle with College of St. Rose to determine the championship of the East Region. One key match up will be between Justin Reyes and Tyler Sayre. At some point these two MVP’s for their respective clubs will meet either in the paint or on the wing.

Le Moyne head basketball coach Patrick Beilein (above) played for his father John at West Virginia University. John Beilein is currently head coach at the University of Michigan, but from 1983-92 he was Le Moyne’s head coach. Patrick had a 22-7 record with Le Moyne this year.

How is this for a blast from the Big East past: Former Huskie and NBA Champion Scott Burrell is currently head coach for the Southern Connecticut University team that played in the NCAA II East Regional Final at Lemoyne last weekend.

Junior forward Jack Jones takes a hook shot during Sunday’s game against Southern Connecticut. The College of St. Rose won the game 67-47. They will play St. Thomas Aquinas College in the NCAA II Regional Final on Tuesday at Le Moyne.
