A flash mob showed appreciation for outgoing Chancellor Nancy Cantor at Syracuse Stage on Friday.
The city gave a farewell flash mob for Nancy Cantor today at three locations: The Warehouse, City Hall, and Syracuse Stage.
If there was one word that can describe her tenure it was engage. Cantor engaged the alumni, students, sports fans, the government, the environmentalists, urbanites, artists, and several of our neighborhoods.
Most important, Cantor engaged our attention. Her leadership showed us more was possible.

Dani Leventhal (center) greeted fans at the Everson Museum on Thursday.
2013 Urban Video Project artist-in-residence Dani Leventhal screened several of her short films tonight at the Everson Museum’s Hosmer Auditorium. We found the family anti-drama “17 New Dam Road” the most thought-provoking. The Q+A portion of the evening was cut short, however, Leventhal met with her fans outside on the patio. A steady rain kept the crowd under the awning, but those with umbrellas could venture onto the plaza to re-watch her CNY-centric film “Platonic,” which was projected onto the Everson’s north wall.

How can we forget the dynamic duo of Ashley Cox and Star Monster and their electronica vibe. They are pictured here playing a Chinese New Year Celebration from about a decade ago.

Onondaga County Legislator Linda Ervin visited with George Kilpatrick at the Jamerican Diner this evening.
New Inspiration for the Nation’s George Kilpatrick held a “Power Schmooze” event this evening at the Jamerican Diner, located at 415 East Washington Street. The guests were treated to home-made Jamaican fruit punch and samples of sweet cheese bread and savory jerk chicken.
The cozy spot on the edge of downtown maybe one of the best kept gastronomic secrets along the Connective Corridor. If you are planning a foodie tour of center city, this place would be a great place to kick it off.

Lebanese fashion designer Walid Atallah takes a final bow during the SFW Fashion Show last night.
Talk about a finale.
Walid Atallah’s design, mixed in with a perfect pageantry of precise presentation and the proper music, nearly sucked the air out of the room last night. Many in the crowd rose to their feet, others reached for their smart phones or cameras. By the end of it all, his showmanship and designs were the talk of the show.

Forman Park, Looking south
The Central New York Police Retirees and Connective Corridor folk continue to show great stewardship of Forman Park. Here are some scenes from this morning’s beautification. We witnessed school-aged kids, retirees, SU executives, as well as current beat cops doing their share in the clean-up and planting process.
