World Refugee Day (World Cup)

Saturday, June 29th, 2019

Unfortunately some repairs were being done at Schiller Park, so this year’s local World Cup soccer tournament was moved to Henninger High School. Here is a photo of a penalty shot to break a tie between Team Burundi and Team Somalia in the first round of the playoffs.

The tournament was the perfect addition to the event, and the idea was also ripe for a city under the spell of FIFA’s World Cup first round action.
