Swingman Charles Pride (#5) exited CBA for Liverpool, but he definitely brought his game along. During a much-hyped early season test against Bishop Ludden (Peppino’s Invitational Tournament) he dropped 20 and blocked a few shots. But Pride’s efforts weren’t enough to overcome 22 points by Mika Adams-Woods. Ludden won the game 65-50.

Mika Adams-Woods (#23), aka the one man press-breaker, but on a shooting, dribbling and passing clinic to help hand CBA their first loss of the season.
Last night’s Section III match up between Bishop Ludden and Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) was the perfect crescendo for the Zebra Classic Tournament. It was also a great showcase match sophomore stars Mika Adams-Woods and Charles Pride.
CBA may be the better team (this was their first loss), but after a 37-point, takeover performance, Adams-Woods showed why he may be the regions best talent. His swishing and dishing, his adept ball-handling, and cat-like quickness would have only been more impressive if the superlatives were supplied by Clyde Frazier.
Ludden won 67-58.
CBA will get their chance at revenge when the two teams meet again in February. At that end-of-the-season meeting, the throwback jerseys will be a distant memory.
Guard Mark Lutz finished with 13 points for CBA.
CBA’s super sophmore Charles Pride tried to keep his team close. He finished with 25 points.
Adams-Woods hit five 3-pointers.
The Most Holy Rosary section, pulling for Ludden, celebrated an early first quarter run with a mini chest bump.
CBA’s defense picked up in the fourth, as evidenced by this trap and steal by Pride and Dan Damico (#33).
Adams-Woods was wearing the throwback jersey, but his game was more than modern. The point guard even got a blocked shot in the first half.

Bishop Ludden point guard Mika Adams-Woods (#23) sliced and diced the Henninger defense and orchestrated his team’s 59-53 win on opening night of the Peppino’s Invitational Tournament. Adams-Woods finished with 31 points.
