Northeast Jazz & Wine Festival, Day 1: Sweet Spirits

July 24th, 2015
Goodway Bakery

We wondered why this couple from Goodway Bakery gave out free samples of their rum cakes.  But truthfully, once you had a taste of the buttery smooth concoction, it was almost impossible not to buy one. That or keep waking by to pick up another sample.  Both the free prize and their overall ebullience made their booth very popular on Friday evening.

Most Valuable Piano Tuner: Kenny Williams.

Most Valuable Piano Tuner: Kenny Williams.

Part of our wish list this year is to recognize Kenny Williams. We bet he’s tuned piano for each of the 30 plus Jazz Fests (give or take a few) here in Syracuse. He’s an expert at his craft, but he’s also an all-around cool guy. We wonder what it will take to get him a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Festival?
