ILoveMakonnen

ILoveMakonnen started in deep cover…

Here’s how fast the weather can change in Syracuse:  Last week it was almost 90 degrees, and they are predicting snow for next month. It seems one minute you are all covered up, and the next you find a warming sun at your back. ATL’s ILoveMakonnen seemed to adjust well during his appearance at the Juice Jam Festival.

…but seemed to warm-up quickly

Northeast Jazz & Wine Festival: Adjustment Periods

NEJWF 2015

Northeast Jazz & Wine Festival 2015.  Overall it was three days of Syracuse-style fun.

We have to give credit where credit is due.

Larry Luttinger and the Northeast Jazz & Wine Festival staff did a great job this year. Not only did they extend the festival a third day (to add Blues), but also literally weathered a thunderstorm, followed by sticky humidity, one cancelled performance, and another headliner who showed up injured.

But of course, the show must go on.

Overall we heard some great music and saw some memorable performances, including a tribute to Jeff Houston and fantastic Friday dance party with Atlas.

Hopefully, the Jazz in the City series that they produce in August won’t bring so many surprises.

John Mooney

New Orleans guitarist John Mooney was a great addition for the Sunday Blues showcase.

Time seems to move faster as spring approaches. It’s hard to believe there are only four more Jazz @ Sitrus shows remaining for the season. The next band to keep the groove in place on the Hill, Michael & Angela Lynn.
