Making the Runway a Disco Scene
SU senior design student Ashley Blume says her collection, which was feature during today’s fashion show, was inspired by Studio 54. Blume’s segment featured raucous dance music and a hypnotic light show. Ironically, the infamous club was co-owned by former Syracuse student Steve Rubell.

Dignitaries including Chancellor Kent Syverud (far right) attended a launch celebration and ribbon cutting for the Blackstone Launchpad yesterday. Blackstone LaunchPad is co-funded by the Blackstone Charitable Foundation and Syracuse University and will provide entrepreneurship support for faculty, staff and students. The start-up space is located on the first floor of Bird Library.
The venture will directed by Linda Dickerson Hartsock, who has previous experience expanding the Tech Garden and the Connective Corridor.

Canada’s Coleman Hell made a stop in Syracuse on Wednesday. The songwriter, vocalist’s tour will head to the Midwest for the next two weeks before playing Montreal at the end of the month. Hell will appear at the Juno Awards on April 3.
