Jim and Juli Boeheim spoke at the Brazzlebox Summit on Wednesday.

We are not ready to say Coach Boeheim is becoming kindler and gentler, but while speaking at the Brazzle Box Small Business Summit this week he launched into a down right motivational story of perseverance by Dajuan Coleman. He talked about the intense rehab and Coleman not being able to play any basketball for a few years. Coleman has made it back from a severe knee injury and is back on the floor for the CUSE. Listen below for an excerpt of Coach Boeheim’s comment.

SU was not ranked in the recent SI top 25, and we don’t know where they will end the season, but one thing we can say for sure, Boeheim certainly cares deeply about his players. But then if you heard him speak at the Homegoing for Eddie Moss, or saw him defend Andre Hawkins after that Big East Tournament game versus Georgetown back in the day, you know this already.

2 Fat 2 Fly

On the Wings of Love: Joey Thompson and Corey Simmons, along with Rome Dickerson (not pictured), illustrated how to do business in this mobile economy with true hospitality, and in the process, served us the best wings in the country.

As part of our week well-traveled, we want to give a shout out to the Hunter and Baker families. Because of their invite, we got to check out the wonderful, finger-licking, stuffed wings from 2 Fat 2 Fly on Tuesday.  Careful Buffalo, if these guys make it north of the Mason-Dixon, your days (for wing dominance) are numbered.

Our favorite was Chicken & Waffles.

Blueprint is in eye of the Beholder

Once again, one of our best product/experiences is on the move. First it was Maryland and Chadds Ford (PA), and soon Wegmans will land in Brooklyn. Something we in Central New York take for granted becomes fuel for the buzz machine in other locales.

Who would ever think that an Upstate grocery store chain would bring more excitement to Brooklyn than a presidential campaign headquarters. Let’s call it the Wegmans Effect.

This was one of our favorite segments from the Social Media Breakfast 8 Tables 8 Topics meeting. We found Jamie Leszczynski’s talk funny, engaging and very informative.
