Author, Commentator and TV Host Roland Martin: one of the hardest working men in journalism
Journalist Roland Martin led a discussion at Syracuse University this evening about his career and current issues in journalism. During his opening Martin stressed the importance of personal credibility, diverse voices to tell stories and taking advantage of multi-talents as a journalist/business person.
SU professor and short story writer George Saunders recently taped a segment with Charlie Rose and gave insight on his work flow and shared a few wonderful stories about upstate cities such as Rochester and Watertown.

Author Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, the daughter of the late Sen. Robert Kennedy speaks at Syracuse University’s inaugural Joseph and Amelia Borgognoni Lecture in Catholic Theology and Religion in Society. She discussed the slow rate of change coming to the Catholic Church. She also advocated that it’s wrong to legislate something that you can’t get people to do morally. She also warned against the dangers of self-righteousness (in the Church).
