2014 Gus Macker 3-on-3 Tournament: Mascot Game

2014 Gus Macker 3-on-3 Tournament: Mascot Game

A funny thing happened at the Gus Macker 3-on-3 Tournament on Saturday: CNY-area mascots held a battle royal of sorts. Each team had a pep squad (Syracuse Silver Knights Cheerleaders and the Gus Macker Girls), and the game had the pageantry of a celebrity all-star contest, punctuated by the spirit of WWE and SlamBall.

Even Bighead Bob (mascot for Bob Antonacci) cheered from the sidelines.

There wasn’t much basketball purity (unless you included the scoring prowess of the Syracuse Silver Knight, who played out of his costume and one point and should have received the MVP), but it was like watching a video game come to life.

The fans seemed to love it.
