The show was held Saturday at Art Rage Gallery on Hawley Avenue.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>As a director,\u00a0Ryan Travis\u00a0is\u00a0prolific. He has conceived and directed numerous productions since we interviewed him a few years ago.<\/p>\n<p>Ryan&#8217;s pace is frenetic, but the quality of the work never suffers. \u00a0The actor\/director\/professor knows how to explore and present timely topics with the right dusting of theatrical polish.\u00a0His latest offering is &#8220;Steady,&#8221;\u00a0an hour-long, song-dialogue-dance-dramatization of the past, present and future of Civil Rights, with a particular emphasis on the 54-mile march from Selma to Montgomery.<\/p>\n<p>There were two shows for &#8220;Steady&#8221; over the weekend at The Art Rage Gallery. \u00a0What made the Art Rage production unique was the poignant visual reminder of the Selma adorning the walls, thanks to the compelling documentary photographs of Matt Herron. \u00a0Having photos of Dr. King, John Lewis, Doris Wilson, and others as part of the set design provided inspiration for the audience as well as the actors.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Steady&#8221;\u00a0\u00a0has its next showing at Onondaga Community College on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>Herron&#8217;s images will be on display at Art Rage until the end of March.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_12395\" style=\"width: 540px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sif.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/steay-cast.jpg\"><img aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-12395\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-12395\" src=\"http:\/\/www.sif.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/steay-cast.jpg\" alt=\"Ryan Hope Travis (left) and the cast of &quot;Steady&quot; at The Art Rage Gallery.\" width=\"530\" height=\"437\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.sif.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/steay-cast.jpg 530w, https:\/\/www.sif.net\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/steay-cast-300x247.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 530px) 100vw, 530px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-12395\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ryan Hope Travis (left) and the multi-talented cast of &#8220;Steady&#8221; at The Art Rage Gallery.<\/p><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As a director,\u00a0Ryan Travis\u00a0is\u00a0prolific.
