Coming of (Middle) Age

Sometimes the best writers are disguised as something else. Media professional Joe Lee, know for his style as well as his substance, is serializing a new form of biography that he calls The Making Of A Miscreant. The writing is personal and raw as effective as any memoir we’re read in the past few years. (So yes, David Granger, he’s ready for a column).

Lee came to Syracuse about two decades ago (to run WAER FM-88). In link above he talks about his journey to the Salt City. He has talent saturation in writing as much as he does in the radio business. He is a great example of immigrants (he is from the Republic of Baltimore) that make keeps the city vibrant.

Lastly, we wonder what it would take to get his play “The Jook Joint,” performed at CFAC or Syracuse Stage next year?
