WAR OF THE WOODS--(July 10)--A Japanese Beetle takes a break from devouring a shrub in the garden of Margie Baker in West Grove, Chester County, Pa. Adult beetles emerge in early July and begin chewing leaves and looking for mates. They lay eggs in the soil in August.
